For updated opening hours of the places of interest and prices of tickets for all important museums and monuments in Florence, please check here (a pdf file opens in a separate window).

Pick-up from your centrally located hotel or accommodation, one of the central squares of the city, or the main railway station of Florence: Santa Maria Novella.

I recommend you to avoid visits to the State museums on the first Sunday of the month: during these days all state museums in Italy are free. Free entrance for everybody creates incredible lines, and it is not possible to book in advance.

You are allowed to photograph both in the Florentine museums, monuments and outside – welcome to the guided tour with your camera! Flash is not allowed Inside museums and churches. tripods and selfie sticks are also not permitted.

How to dress: it is hard to walk on the old streets of Florence wearing high hills. I reccomend you to wear convenient shoes, and, during hot summer days, to bring a bottle of water and a hat with you.

Dress-code to visit the churches: covered shoulders and knees. Visitors wearing mini-skirts or shorts will not be admitted. It is not necessary to cover your head.
